How to use SJphone to call in to TalkShoe

With SJphone you can call into TalkShoe for FREE from you PC. You just need a microphone and speakers (preferably an inegrated headset).
Further down is a comprehensive video tutorial, but if you're good with computers, here's the bottom line:

 1. Install SJphone from http://sjphone.org/sjp.html   

- Don't be concerned if you see this message at sjphone.com (you CAN get straight through to to TalkShoe for free WITHOUT any other (VOIP) accounts set up):

If you see this, Ignore it! >> Having SJphone installed is not enough to talk except over your local network. You have to obtain an account with any ITSP like Vonage or Free World Dialup, or install your own VoIP server.

  2  . Run through the Audio Wizard that pops up

  3. Configure SJphone: (see images below on this page)

  - follow: Menu/ Options/ Profiles tab/ select 'SIP Direct'/ Edit/ STUN tab and 
  - make sure "use discovered addresses in SIP" is UNChecked
  - make sure "use discovered addresses in SIP" is UNChecked

  - follow: Menu/ Options/ Audio tab/ select 'SIP Direct'/ Edit/ STUN tab and 
  - make sure "Automatically Adjust Microphone Level" is  UNChecked
  - make sure "Automatically Adjust Silence Detection Level" is UNChecked

  4. Dial Talk Shoe:

  - Enter this number into SJphone from keyboard: 66.212.134.192 
  - click Blue Phone icon (bottom right) to dial-in
  - Enter Show Id and PIN, on the phone's keypad, just as if calling from a landline phone
  - Spirit Talk Radio call id is 12324# or
  - MetaTalk Cafe call id is 28598# 
  - Use guest PIN of 1# or preferably your own PIN from talkshoe Sign up

 
 5. Problems? 
  - Some people get "SJPhone not accepted here" message or other problems.
  - We don't know why, but they may just disappear if you try later later.  
   - Also, 'X-Lite' is an another option (we use it), though two have reported it caused them big PC problems!
